Why did you want to be a CUE?
We live in a society endlessly filled with divisions created by man-made structures. In order to rebuild, the utmost priority is that we are able to relearn beyond the narratives we are socialized with. I wanted to be a CUE because of the program's mission of involving students in the betterment of our world. It’s my personal goal to improve not only my own social literacy but that of those around me and under my care.
Why do you think the CUE Program is important for IU?
Coming to university as a person from a marginalized community can often feel isolating. We need to implement spaces for all students to feel safe. IU’s CUE program helps to both keep students informed about topics they may have never been exposed to and simultaneously provide support and a voice to students who are not given much or any representation on campus.
