Why did you want to be a CUE?
I always admired all that the CUEs represented, and having the opportunity to embody that myself was extremely important to me! The position gives me the chance to give back to my community in a fulfilling way, and to help students feel comfortable and welcomed in a new environment. I want to also help students learn more about themselves in a safe environment, and to act as a resource that students are comfortable enough to approach.
Why do you think the CUE Program is important for IU?
The CUE program is essential to fostering a community that is safe, welcoming, and accepting to all individuals with varying identities. As a direct result of the work CUEs put in, residence halls gain a greater sense of awareness of identity, and students are given the opportunity to explore and foster their own identity as well.
