Why did you want to be a CUE?
No matter where life may take a person, they will experience diversity in some way from the people they are around to the methods others use to work, diversity is intricately woven into the fabric of our community and university. It's what makes us strong and empathetic. To be a part of a program where we can help break students out of their "bubble", play a role in their development, and have them interacting with the community they are in is something I want to be a part of.
Why do you think the CUE Program is important for IU?
The CUE Program is important because it facilitates a students' personal growth. For some, IU may be the first or one of the first places in their life where they will be around folks who may be vastly different from them and see the world through a whole different lens. The location of the program in RPS enhances that moment because it's not just attending a program, you're living with these people too. I believe that the CUE Program has a unique opportunity to transform the lives of students and help others understand how themselves and their see the world. That alone makes the CUE Program an integral and pivotal part of the IU Community and helps IU become a better institution.
